Light of a Sunrise

I stood in the light of a sunrise,
The crunch of time passed at my feet.
The autumnal glow of pure amber,
Leaving a path on my cheek.

I glanced at the glow through a tree branch,
A silhouette of time passing on.
Warmth and comfort, pure daylight.
Lasting the length of a song.

I stood in the light of a sunrise,
Reminders of all that has been.
Left behind in the crunch on a sidewalk,
Never to be heard from again.
